Effects of Alcohol

Driving is a high stress activity. It requires concentration, motor skills, common sense, and an awareness for the safety of everyone on the road. Alcohol affects people differently. Mixing drugs or alcohol and driving is dangerous and often deadly.

No matter which type of alcohol you drink, wine, beer or hard liquor, the effects are the same. . A 12-ounce can of beer, a 5-ounce glass of wine, and a 1.5-ounce shot of vodka all contain the same amount of alcohol. With a standard serving of any of these and the effects can be the same. Judgement, motor skills and reaction time are all impaired when drinking and driving.

Many people sadly believe that a cold shower, coffee or caffeine can sober you up. Time is the only thing that can sober you up.
